All The Poems
Written by George Gerdts
Days Long Past. 22 Sep 2022
Looking up, from his work, he slowly walks.
Must be aware of uneven terrain.
He is alone and does not have to talk,
Hoping this chore is done before the rain.
In the distance, as far as he can see,
Grey clouds, of which he does not know the name,
Taunt him with the potential that could be.
The sky he sees now, will not be the same.
All around, omens of an unseen world.
From a web strand hangs, an upside down cross
Which his mind expands and tries to unfurl.
Existing, as he mourns each minute’s loss.
Grieve not constantly for the days long past.
Love memories that continue to last.
